You could of course buy Swifter breeding ewes from one of the Swifter breeders. At the moment there are more than 200 registered members with the Swifter Sheep Herdbook.

A few members have an English website with information about their breeding program.

A479 - Daniël Delanghe.

A complete member list is available through the following links. The list sorted by membership number shows the Swifter breeders in order of registration. Members on top of the list therefore have a longer experience in breeding Swifters. If you want to contact members in your vicinity, you can choose the list sorted by postal code.

schapenBomen2The Swifter sheep herdbook was instituated in 1982, and it has grown rapidly since then. There still is much demand for good breeding material.

The aim of the Swifter sheep herdbook is to control the quality of its members' breeding animals. Thus, there is a thorough breeding register by means of, among others, pedigree certificates, lists of all rams used in that year, who have an own breeding value for fertility and ewes with a high breeding value for fertility, tupping lists and offspring registers. Furthermore, estmated breeding values are determined according to the Best Linear Unbiased Prediction method (BLUP).

All production and breeding data are processed by computer.
